EDUCATIONAL DESIGNER

I was a lead author of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS-M) and I continue to work on implementation and policy issues related to the standards.

• Recipient of the 2014 Ross Taylor/Glenn Gilbert National Leadership Award from the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics and the Walter Denham Award from the California Math Council.

• Vice Chair of the Strategic Education Research Partnership Board, which leads learning partnerships between practitioners from school districts and researchers.

• Led the New Standards Project and Research and Development for the National Center for Education and the Economy (NCEE).

• Directed large scale teacher professional development programs for the University of California including the California Mathematics Project and the American Mathematics Project. His sixteen years at the University included six years directing projects to help states develop standards, accountability and testing systems.
