Harold Asturias is an experienced professional developer in the areas of standards and assessment in math for large urban districts and smaller rural districts. Dr. Asturias specializes in connecting mathematics and English language development, as well as equity in mathematics education.
Director of the Center for Mathematics Excellence and Equity (CeMEE) at the Lawrence Hall of Science.
Former Deputy Director of the Mathematics and Science Professional Development at the University of California Office of the President.
Served as director of the New Standards Portfolio Assessment Project and the Mathematics Unit for New Standards, a project to develop national standards and assessments.
